Telehealth Doctor in
Fresno — Video Visits With Your Own Physician
Your doctor visit should not require a drive, a wait, or a day off work.
Modern Medicine Group offers secure video visits with our board-certified internists — Dr. Kaur and Dr. Virk — right from your phone, tablet, or computer. Telehealth at MMG is not a random on-call physician who does not know your history. It is your doctor, your chart, and continuity of care — from wherever you are.
Medicare and most insurance plans cover telehealth visits.

Telehealth vs. In-person
What you can do from your couch. And what you can't.
Some things translate perfectly to video. Some things just don't. Here's our honest map of which is which — so you don't book a telehealth visit for something we'll end up having to do in person.

What Telehealth Visits Are Good For
A telehealth visit with your MMG physician is a great option for:
-
Medication refills and management — reviewing your prescriptions, adjusting doses, addressing side effects, renewing controlled substances (with appropriate clinical review)
-
Follow-up visits — checking in after a prior in-office visit, lab results review, post-hospital follow-up
-
Mental health management — ongoing management of depression, anxiety, and related conditions; medication review and counseling check-ins
-
Chronic disease check-ins blood pressure review, diabetes management updates, COPD or asthma check-ins (when an in-person exam is not required)
-
Mild to moderate common infections — sore throat, sinus pressure, cold symptoms, suspected UTI (if you can provide a home test or prior results)
-
Prescription questions — drug interactions, formulary changes, new medication questions
-
Lab result review — reviewing bloodwork, explaining what your numbers mean, discussing next steps
-
Pre-visit intake — a telehealth visit to establish care before your first in-person appointment
-
Sick visits for established patients — minor illness evaluation when your symptoms do not require an in-person exam

What Needs an In-Person Visit
Some things cannot be done safely or accurately over a video screen. Please come to our office in person for:
-
Annual physicals and wellness exams — a full physical requires hands-on assessment
-
Procedures — injections, wound care, EKG, spirometry, and other in-office procedures
-
Vaccines and immunizations — must be administered in-person
-
On-site lab draws — blood work requires in-person collection
-
New concerning symptoms requiring physical exam — chest pain evaluation, abdominal pain, new neurological symptoms, signs of serious infection
-
First visit with a new patient (in most cases) — we strongly prefer to meet you in person before moving to telehealth-only care
-
Any situation where the doctor needs to physically examine you
